National Assembly Vice Chairman Le Minh Hoan on September 18 met with Wouter Beke, chair of the European Parliament delegation, who expressed the hope for stronger relations with both Viet Nam and ASEAN.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man held bilateral meetings with Cambodian National Assembly President Khuon Sudary and Timor-Leste National Parliament Speaker Maria Fernanda Lay in Kuala Lumpur on September 17 on the sidelines of the 46th General Assembly of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA-46).

The visit is a step to implement the Viet Nam-Malaysia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, thereby fostering cooperation in all fields in a more substantive and effective manner.

The ongoing working trip of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man to Malaysia contributes to promoting the image of Viet Nam as an active and responsible partner that always strives to make contributions at multilateral forums, including ASEAN. At the same time, it reaffirmed the determination to strengthen the strong friendship and the comprehensive strategic partnership between Viet Nam and Malaysia.

The top legislator’s attendance at AIPA-46 is made at the invitation of Speaker of the Malaysian House of Representatives Dato' Johari Bin Abdul, who is also AIPA-46 President, while his official visit is made at the invitation of President of the Malaysian Senate Dato’ Awang Bemee Awang Ali Basah.

National Assembly (NA) Chairman Tran Thanh Man’s participation in the 46th General Assembly of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA-46) in Malaysia will provide an opportunity for Viet Nam to reaffirm its role and contributions and promote cooperation with member parliaments, thus promoting the building of a resilient ASEAN Community, Deputy Foreign Minister Le Anh Tuan has said.

National Assembly (NA) Chairman Tran Thanh Man’s attendance in the 46th General Assembly of the ASEAN Inter‑Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) demonstrates Viet Nam’s proactive, responsible participation in AIPA alongside other member parliaments, and the country’s commitment to broadening its parliamentary relations with nations beyond the region, stated Vietnamese Ambassador to Malaysia Dinh Ngoc Linh.
