The 2025 Amnesty Advisory Council met on August 25 to review and endorse the list of inmates recommended for early release by the State President on the occasion of the 80th National Day (September 2, 1945–2025).

Deputy Foreign Minister Dang Hoang Giang, a member of the 2025 Amnesty Advisory Council (second phase), on August 7 led an inter-agency delegation to inspect amnesty preparations at Thanh Xuan Prison in Ha Noi.

The amnesty round on the occasion of the upcoming 80th National Day holds great significance, so the scope and eligibility criteria are expanded as compared to the April round, said Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh.
