Prime Minister Le Minh Hung’s attendance at the ASEAN-Russia Commemorative Summit marking the 35th anniversary of dialogue relations has reaffirmed Viet Nam’s role as a key bridge between Russia and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), while opening a new chapter in the Viet Nam-Russia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

Viet Nam's high-level delegation, led by Prime Minister Le Minh Hung, made significant contributions to the success of the ASEAN-Russia Commemorative Summit marking the 35th anniversary of dialogue relations, reaffirming Viet Nam's support in promoting ASEAN’s central role and advancing the bloc's strategic partnership with Russia, Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung has said.

In a message delivered to the ASEAN-Russia Business Forum, held in the city of Kazan on the sidelines of the ASEAN-Russia Commemorative Summit, Putin said the sides have accumulated substantial experience in multifaceted cooperation, built strong partnerships, and laid a solid foundation for further expanding cooperation.

Two-way trade has continued to grow, with Russia exporting products such as fertilisers and potash to Viet Nam, while importing Vietnamese goods including garments-textiles and coffee. However, both sides agreed that overall trade turnover remains modest relative to the potential and the level of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.

Prime Minister Le Minh Hung will lead a high-ranking delegation of Viet Nam to attend the ASEAN-Russia Commemorative Summit marking the 35th anniversary of ASEAN-Russia relations in Kazan, Russia, from June 16-18.
