Con Dao National Park in Ho Chi Minh City has successfully relocated 1,800 turtle nests and released around 120,000 hatchlings safely back into the sea during nearly six months of the turtle nesting season.

Hon Trung (Egg Island) lies in the northeast of the Con Dao National Park, about 20 kilometres from the mainland, and is considered the farthest island in the cluster. Thanks to its favourable natural conditions and strict conservation management, Hon Trung has been recognised by the Viet Nam Records Organisation (VietKings) as the seabird nesting site with the highest breeding density in the country.

Con Dao National Park has officially joined the International Union for Conservation of Nature’s (IUCN) Green List, marking an important milestone in biodiversity conservation and sustainable development.

The Con Dao National Park in Ho Chi Minh City has received five Nicobar pigeons (Caloenas nicobarica), a rare and endangered bird species, from the Con Dao Special Zone Economic Division after they were found injured and disoriented by local residents.

The pristine sandy shores of Bai Thit (Nui Chua National Park, Khanh Hoa), Cu Lao Cau (Hon Cau Marine Protected Area, Lam Dong), and Hon Bay Canh (Con Dao National Park, Ho Chi Minh City) are not only crucial nesting sites for endangered sea turtles, but also places where visitors and volunteers leave their footprints while learning how to live alongside wildlife.

A new passenger port in Con Dao island district in the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau has received the first high-speed boat carrying over 200 passengers to the popular tourist destination, according to the Management Board of Ben Dam port.
