The visit is a vivid testament to the enduring friendship nurtured between the two countries over the past half century, while demonstrating the strong determination of their leaders to usher bilateral ties – particularly parliamentary and economic-trade cooperation – into a new phase of deeper, more substantive and effective development.

Against the backdrop of a complex global geopolitical landscape marked by numerous challenges, including food crises and climate change, promoting international cooperation is considered key to strengthening countries’ capacity to overcome difficulties. Viet Nam and Africa in general, and Côte d’Ivoire in particular, have considerable room to enhance cooperation across various fields, especially economics and trade, promising to bring tangible benefits to their peoples.

National Assembly (NA) Vice Chairman Vu Hong Thanh and NA Vice President of Côte d’Ivoire Woi Mela Gaston attended a seminar titled "Political and economic cooperation between Viet Nam and Côte d'Ivoire: Achievements and future prospects" to explore the future of Viet Nam - Côte d’Ivoire economic cooperation, as part of the former's official visit to the African nation from July 9 – 12.
