Total donations to the “65 Years of Viet Nam–Cuba Solidarity” campaign reached 615 billion VND (23.34 million USD), 9.5 times higher than the initial target, heard the campaign's closing ceremony in Hanoi on October 18.
By 8:00 am on August 15, donations for Cuba via account No. 2022 at the Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank had topped 117 billion VND (over 4.45 million USD) from nearly 590,000 people, far exceeding the 65-billion-VND target.
In response to the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and under the consent of the Prime Minister, the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society has called for all committees, ministries, branches, organisations, agencies, units, enterprises, individuals, benefactors, people of all classes, and all officers, members and volunteers of Red Cross Societies at all levels to give donations to people in earthquake-hit Turkey and Syria.
