A range of taxes on petrol, oil, and aviation fuel have been reduced to 0% under Resolution No. 19/2026/QH16 of the National Assembly, effective from 00:00 on April 16 through June 30, 2026.

The 16th National Assembly (NA) continued its first sitting on April 10 with group discussions on a wide range of socio-economic issues, alongside draft laws and resolutions, including a proposal on tax measures for petroleum products and aviation fuel.

Viet Nam has temporarily cut environmental protection tax on petrol, diesel and jet fuel to zero under a decision signed by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, as the Government moves to stabilise the domestic fuel market and safeguard energy security.
