Fresh off their trip to Africa and the Middle East, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his spouse, together with a high-level Vietnamese delegation, laid new strategic ground for diversifying partnerships and expanding development space for Vietnamese businesses and localities. The trip included official visits to Kuwait and Algeria, and engagement in the G20 Summit and bilateral activities in South Africa, according to Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh had separate meetings on the morning of November 22 (local time) with the President of the Republic of Korea (RoK) and the Prime Minister of India and Spain to discuss ways to advance bilateral cooperation and exchange views on international issues of shared concern.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has expressed his hope that South Africa’s African National Congress (ANC) and the Communist Party of Viet Nam (CPV) will maintain close coordination, providing a solid political foundation that helps steer and facilitate cooperation between the two countries.

South Africa hopes and needs Viet Nam to be part of the G20 and also wants the world to understand that solidarity is a deliberate choice, South African Ambassador to Viet Nam Vuyiswa Tulelo has stated.

The widening global inequality gap continues to pose a serious threat to efforts toward building a democratic and prosperous world for all people and nations.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa on the sidelines of the expanded BRICS summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on July 6 (local time), during which they agreed to foster bilateral cooperation in several specific areas.

Vietnamese Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan and her visiting Nigerian counterpart Yemi Osinbajo agreed on specific orientations to deepen cooperation between the two countries in an effective manner, during their talks in Hanoi on December 5.
