Global gold prices set a new record on September 9 as investors expected the US Federal Reserve (FED) to cut interest rates by 0.75 percentage points in the remaining months of 2025, trading at 3,650.3 USD per ounce. In the domestic market, SJC gold bar and ring prices reversed course and jumped, traded at 135.8 million VND per tael and 130.8 million VND per tael, respectively.
On September 5, global gold prices fell slightly from their record peak to 3,550.6 USD/ounce as the market entered an overbought zone. In the domestic market, SJC gold bars kept setting new records, trading at 134.4 million VND/tael, while SJC gold rings rose to 129.2 million VND/tael.
On August 29, global gold prices surpassed 3,400 USD per ounce. Domestically, SJC gold bars hit a new peak, trading close to 129 million VND per tael, while SJC gold rings rose to 123.1 million VND per tael.
Global gold prices on August 15 fell to 3,337.7 USD per ounce amid surging inflation data in the US, which reduced expectations of an interest rate cut by the US Federal Reserve (FED). Domestically, SJC gold bar prices remained at a high level of 124.5 million VND per tael, while SJC gold rings were traded at 119.1 million VND per tael.
As of the afternoon of August 12, domestic gold bar prices remained flat, holding at high levels, while plain gold ring prices saw a slight decline.
