Located in the Northern Key Economic Region, with convenient transport infrastructure connecting it to seaports, airports, and major urban centres, Hung Yen Province is implementing tasks and solutions to harness its potential and advantages, aiming to achieve a breakthrough in economic development and become a modern industrial province.

According to statistics from Hung Yen Province, to date, the total area under perennial crops now stands at 24,530 hectares, an increase of 2.95% over the same period in 2024.

As part of their official visit to Viet Nam, President of the National Assembly of People’s Power and President of the Council of the State of Cuba Esteban Lazo Hernández and a high-ranking Cuban delegation paid a working visit to the northern province of Hung Yen on October 4.

According to the Hung Yen Provincial Sub-Department of Rural Development, so far, the province has had 606 products evaluated, rated and recognised as One Commune One Product (OCOP) products. Among them, 493 products have been rated 3-star and 113 products 4-star.

Hung Yen Province, which is currently undergoing industrialisation and modernisation, has attracted a large number of workers both from within and outside the province to work on investment projects in industrial zones, industrial clusters, and economic zones. As a result, the demand for social housing for workers in the locality is high, and this issue is receiving strong attention from the provincial authorities.

Hung Yen Province is accelerating the development of digital infrastructure and e-government systems, in line with the “National Strategy for the Development of a Digital Economy and Digital Society by 2025, with a Vision to 2030”.

Hung Yen province is promoting the cultivation of its signature longan fruit through organic farming and value chain models to improve production efficiency, quality, and added value. The locality is striving to ensure benefits for all stakeholders involved, raise the value of this regional specialty, and contribute to increasing farmers’ incomes.

Party General Secretary To Lam has emphasised that Nghia Tru commune in the northern province of Hung Yen must assert its role in a new development space that encompasses larger population, broader natural areas, and a diversified economy.

According to statistics from Hung Yen Province, the province’s gross regional domestic product (GRDP) in the first six months of the year, after consolidation, has increased by 8.11% compared to the same period in 2024.

With the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism recently announcing the addition of three exemplary forms of culture to the List of National Intangible Cultural Heritages in 2025, Hung Yen Province has become one of the localities with a substantial number of recognised heritages nationwide.

In recent years, Hung Yen Province has promoted the application of information technology and digital transformation, contributing to job creation, improved income, and enhanced quality of life for its people. However, in order for the digital economy to become a new growth driver, the province needs to continue identifying and resolving bottlenecks to foster innovation and creativity.
