Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has ordered urgent measures to overcome the consequences of heavy rains, flash floods, and landslides triggered by Typhoon Bualoi – the 10th storm to hit the East Sea/South China Sea this year – which has caused severe human and material losses across northern and central provinces.

The first congress of the Party Organisation of Lao Cai province for the 2025–2030 tenure wrapped up on September 30, agreeing on five key tasks, three breakthrough steps, and ten specific measures to transform the province into a growth pole and a development hub in the north.

Lao Cai Province’s tourism industry grew impressively in the first six months of 2025, attracting more than 8.7 million visitors, reaching more than 22 trillion VND in revenue.
