After a period of active excavation and sampling, on the morning of August 14, the Steering Committee for the Search and Identification of Martyrs in Dien Bien Province handed over 876 samples of unidentified martyrs’ remains to the Military Forensic Institute under the Ministry of National Defence for DNA testing to support martyr identification.
