Chairman of the National Assembly and Chairman of the National Election Council (NEC) Tran Thanh Man has called on voters to carefully select deputies with integrity, competence and credibility who truly represent the people's will and aspirations.

Preparations for the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly (NA) and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 tenure have been basically completed in accordance with schedule and legal regulations, officials said at a press conference held in Ha Noi on March 12.

The decision to form the NEC was made under Resolution 211/2025/QH15, while the appointment of Politburo member and NA Chairman Tran Thanh Man as the NEC Chairperson was made under Resolution 212/2025/QH15.
