Global gold prices fell sharply on June 24, trading at 4,075 USD per ounce as the US dollar stayed at its highest level of the year and the possibility of an interest rate hike by the US Federal Reserve (Fed) remained. In the domestic market, gold prices across brands were almost unchanged. SJC gold bar was quoted at 144-147 million VND per tael for buying and selling.

Global gold prices on February 10 reversed course, slipping after briefly jumping to nearly 5,100 USD per ounce, and were trading at 5,040.6 USD per ounce. In Viet Nam, both SJC gold bar and rings continued to climb sharply, quoted at 181 million VND per tael and 180.5 million VND per tael, respectively, up 200,000 VND per tael from yesterday afternoon.

Global gold prices surged in the first trading session of the week on February 9, climbing above 5,000 USD per ounce. In the domestic market, prices of SJC gold bar and SJC gold rings rose simultaneously by nearly 2 million VND per tael, to 181.2 million VND per tael and 180.7 million VND per tael, respectively.

Global gold prices rebounded sharply on February 7, trading at 4,966 USD per ounce, driven by strong buying from central banks. Domestically, prices of SJC gold bars and gold rings rose by nearly 3 million VND per tael, quoted at 179.3 million VND per tael and 178.8 million VND per tael, respectively.

Global gold prices on February 2 continued their steep downward trend, trading around 4,278.5 USD per ounce. Domestically, prices of SJC gold bars and SJC gold rings also continued to “plunge” in line with global developments, trading at 163 million VND per tael and 166 million VND per tael, respectively.

Global gold prices on January 31 continued to plunge, trading at 4,882.5 USD per ounce, as investors rushed to sell and lock in profits after a sharp rally. In Viet Nam, prices of SJC gold bar and rings also dropped by around 9 million VND per tael, quoted at 172 million VND per tael and 171 million VND per tael, respectively.

On 28 January, both domestic and global gold prices surged sharply, surpassing all previously recorded records. During the morning session, the price of SJC gold bars in Vietnam rose by 4.1 million VND per tael and continued to increase by a further 2.8 million VND in the afternoon, pushing prices up to 184.2 million VND per tael — the highest level ever recorded.

Global gold prices on January 23 surged to a new record high of 4,913.2 USD/ounce. Domestically, SJC gold bar prices climbed to a new peak of 172.2 million VND/tael, while gold ring prices reached 170.8 million VND/tael.

Global gold prices reversed course and cooled down on January 17, falling to 4,595.4 USD per ounce due to short-term profit-taking by investors after the precious metal repeatedly reached historical highs. Domestically, SJC gold bar and ring prices continued to remain high, traded at 162.8 million VND per tael and 159.7 million VND per tael, respectively.

SJC gold bar prices were listed at 156–158 million VND per tael (buying–selling), down 1.7 million VND per tael on both the buying and selling sides compared with yesterday. Meanwhile, gold rings were listed at 151.1–154.1 million VND per tael (buying–selling), with the spread at 2 million VND compared with yesterday.

Global gold prices continued their upward trend on December 24, trading at 4,493.9 USD/ounce. In the domestic market, SJC gold bars rose further to a new record high of 159.2 million VND per tael, while gold rings were traded at 155.6 million VND per tael.

Global gold prices today (December 19) edged down slightly to 4,325.6 USD/ounce after a series of recent gains. Domestically, SJC gold bullion is trading at 156.4 million VND/tael, while gold rings remain unchanged at 153.3 million VND/tael.

Global gold prices on December 4 edged down to 4,191.3 USD per ounce amid a wave of profit-taking by investors. In the domestic market, SJC gold bars simultaneously decreased to 153.8 million VND per tael, while SJC gold rings were listed at 151.9 million VND per tael.

Global gold prices on November 19 recovered after three consecutive declining sessions, rising to 4,088.9 USD per ounce. SJC gold bars and SJC gold rings also simultaneously increased again after nearly a week of falling and moving sideways, trading at 151.0 million VND per tael and 149.0 million VND per tael respectively.

Global gold prices on October 30 extended their downward trend following positive news about US–China trade negotiations, trading at 3,996.7 USD/ounce. In the domestic market, SJC gold bars and rings also reversed sharply, quoted at 145.8 million VND/tael and 147.8 million VND/tael, respectively.

Global gold prices on October 20 rebounded to 4,310 USD per ounce. In the domestic market, SJC gold bars rose to 151.5 million VND per tael, while gold rings traded at 150.2 million VND per tael, remaining unchanged from the end of last week.

Global gold prices on October 1 continued their upward momentum, reaching 3,859 USD per ounce. In the domestic market, SJC gold bars set a new record, trading at 138 million VND per tael, while gold rings also hit a historic peak of 134.1 million VND per tael.

SJC gold bar prices remained unchanged at 133.0 million VND per tael, while SJC gold rings also held steady at 129.5 million VND per tael. 

Global gold prices on September 10 rose to 3,646 USD/ounce as the market prepared for the possibility of a US Federal Reserve (FED) interest rate cut. In Viet Nam, SJC gold bars “cooled” but remained at peak levels, trading at 135.3 million VND/tael, while SJC rings fell to 130.2 million VND/tael.

Global gold prices set a new record on September 9 as investors expected the US Federal Reserve (FED) to cut interest rates by 0.75 percentage points in the remaining months of 2025, trading at 3,650.3 USD per ounce. In the domestic market, SJC gold bar and ring prices reversed course and jumped, traded at 135.8 million VND per tael and 130.8 million VND per tael, respectively.
