Exactly 80 years ago, on May 1, 1946, amid the many difficulties facing the fledgling revolutionary administration, International Workers’ Day (May 1) was, for the first time in the history of independent Viet Nam, solemnly marked with a rally in the capital city of Ha Noi, attended by hundreds of thousands of working people.
