Viet Nam has voiced the country’s support for substantive reform of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) to enhance the body’s representativeness, effectiveness and efficiency.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh joined leaders from ASEAN members and partner countries, including China, the US, Russia, India, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Australia, and New Zealand, at the 20th East Asia Summit (EAS) held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on October 27 afternoon, as part of the 47th ASEAN Summit and related summits.
Viet Nam welcomes the immediate and unconditional ceasefire agreement reached between Cambodia and Thailand on July 28, considering it an important step towards easing tensions and restoring peace, stability, security, and safety in the region, spokeswoman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pham Thu Hang said on July 29.
Viet Nam has reaffirmed its steadfast support for multilateralism and collective action under United Nations leadership, while calling on all countries, regardless of size or power, to fully comply with international law and the UN Charter.
