In the new phase of development, Viet Nam will continue to strengthen women’s leadership and ensure that women fully participate in and benefit from major transformative processes such as digital transformation, artificial intelligence and the green transition, Minister Counsellor Nguyen Hai Luu, Deputy Permanent Representative of Viet Nam to the UN, has said.

Ambassador Do Hung Viet, Permanent Representative of Viet Nam to the UN, commended the practical achievements made by the bloc’s Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) despite a challenging international environment, while expressing appreciation for its activities and support in Viet Nam during his address to the annual session of the UN Women Executive Board in New York.

As many as 45% of candidates for Viet Nam’s 16th National Assembly (NA) being women is an encouraging and positive development, according to Caroline Nyamayemombe, Country Representative of the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) in Viet Nam.

The second National Press Awards on Gender Equality was launched in Ha Noi on November 26, affirming the vital role of the media in advancing gender equality in Viet Nam.

Viet Nam will work closely with the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women), member states, and partners to ensure that no woman or girl is left behind, Ambassador Do Hung Viet, head of the Permanent Mission of Viet Nam to the United Nations, has said.

The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), in partnership with the US Agency for International Development (USAID) and UN Women, launched the ASEAN Regional Plan of Action on Women, Peace and Security ( ASEAN RPA on WPS) on December 5.
