Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Information, Education and Mass Mobilisation Trinh Van Quyet said that the VNA was singled out for its role as the leading multimedia agency and national news provider, acting as the primary information source that feeds the rest of the press corps and anchors coverage of the Party and nation’s major political events.

At its second plenum, the Party Central Committee agreed in principle to transfer Viet Nam Television, the Voice of Viet Nam, the Viet Nam News Agency, the Viet Nam Academy of Social Sciences, and the Viet Nam Academy of Science and Technology from agencies under the Government to public non-business units under the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Viet Nam.

On the morning of July 17, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended and directed the 27th Party Congress of the Viet Nam News Agency (VNA) for the 2025–2030 term, solemnly held in Ha Noi.
