General Secretary of the Communist Party of Viet Nam Central Committee and State President To Lam, and Prime Minister Le Minh Hung on June 11 sent messages of sympathy to Philippine President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos over great losses of life and property caused by a recent earthquake in the southern Philippines.

General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Viet Nam and President of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam To Lam, together with his spouse and a high-level Vietnamese delegation, has successfully concluded official visits to Thailand, State visits to Singapore and the Philippines, and participation in and delivery of a keynote address at the Shangri-La Dialogue.

Deputy Minister of National Defence Sen. Lieut. Gen. Hoang Xuan Chien and Philippine Undersecretary of National Defence Irineo C. Espino co-chaired the seventh Viet Nam–Philippines defence policy đialogue in Ha Noi on November 26.

Minister of National Defence General Phan Van Giang has called on the defence ministries of Vietnam and the Philippines to strengthen delegation exchanges at all levels, particularly high-level visits, and to enhance the effectiveness of cooperation mechanisms, especially the Defence Policy Dialogue.
