Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung urged the Progressive Policy Institute (PPI) to continue to support and promote the development of Viet Nam-US relations when he hosted a reception in Ha Noi on August 5 for PPI Chief Executive Officer Lindsay Mark Lewis and its working delegation.

The private sector's engagement has played a vital role in advancing the normalisation of Viet Nam – US relations over the past three decades, Vietnamese Ambassador to the US Nguyen Quoc Dung has affirmed.

The US Embassy in Viet Nam on July 11 hosted a reception in celebration of the 249th anniversary of the US’s Independence Day (July 4) and the 30th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Viet Nam and the US (July 12, 1995 - 2025).

On July 12, 1995 (Ha Noi time), US President Bill Clinton and Vietnamese Prime Minister Vo Van Kiet announced the full normalisation of the two countries' diplomatic ties, marking a historic turning point in the Viet Nam – US relations.

Viet Nam stands ready to engage in comprehensive cooperation with the US, sharing both benefits and risks in long-term joint projects on the basis of transparency and fairness, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha said at a meeting with US Ambassador to Viet Nam Marc Knapper and a delegation from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in Ha Noi on July 9.

As part of the working visit by a delegation from the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment to the US’ states of Iowa, Ohio, Maryland, and the capital Washington D.C. from June 2 to 6, Vietnamese enterprises have signed 20 memoranda of understanding (MoUs) to import agricultural products from the US.
