Viet Nam – China relations are maintaining strong and comprehensive momentum and have reached an “unprecedented height” while entering a new phase of development with prospects for broader and deeper cooperation, said Professor Wang Yong, Director of the Centre for International Political Economy at Peking University.

Deputy PM Mai Van Chinh urged the two sides to highly prioritise railway cooperation, effectively utilise the Viet Nam – China Joint Railway Cooperation Committee, and ensure the groundbreaking of the Lao Cai – Ha Noi – Hai Phong railway project in 2025.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's participation in the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit in Tianjin on August 31 and September 1 at the invitation of the Chinese Government reflects the host’s respect for Viet Nam’s growing role and stature in the region and the world.
