Prime Minister Le Minh Hung has urged the Viet Nam National University-Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM) to become the country’s leading hub for finding, training and retaining top talent, with a continuous pipeline running from outstanding undergraduates and postgraduates to young scientists and senior experts, especially in basic sciences and strategic technologies.

To drive the development of core industries, Ho Chi Minh City has been focusing on strongly promoting the microchip design industry. However, the biggest obstacle to achieving this goal is the shortage of human resources, as the entire country currently has only slightly more than 5,000 microchip design engineers.
