Ambassador Do Hung Viet, Permanent Representative of Viet Nam to the UN, commended the practical achievements made by the bloc’s Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) despite a challenging international environment, while expressing appreciation for its activities and support in Viet Nam during his address to the annual session of the UN Women Executive Board in New York.

An international initiative aimed at promoting the rights and protection of women and girl children through Vovinam, the traditional martial art of Viet Nam, was launched at a ceremony hosted by the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan in Tokyo on May 15.

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development of Viet Nam (BIDV) have signed a 250 million USD financing package to support sustainable and climate-resilient agriculture, while enhancing access to finance for women-owned small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Viet Nam.
