International Labour Day on May 1 is an occasion to honour the contributions of the working class and workers around the world, while affirming the significance of a day of action for legitimate rights and social progress.

Exactly 80 years ago, on May 1, 1946, amid the many difficulties facing the fledgling revolutionary administration, International Workers’ Day (May 1) was, for the first time in the history of independent Viet Nam, solemnly marked with a rally in the capital city of Ha Noi, attended by hundreds of thousands of working people.

Sharing common confidence, sentiments, and expectations for the 14th National Party Congress, trade union members and workers have demonstrated unity in both awareness and action, striving to affirm the role and position of the working class and trade union organisations in the era of industrialisation, modernisation, and national digital transformation.
