THACO launches projects to boost to mechanical engineering and supporting industries in Quang Nam

Truong Hai Auto Corporation (THACO) held a ceremony in Tam Hiep Commune, Nui Thanh District, Quang Nam Province on December 17 to announce the establishment of THACO Industries Company, the inauguration of a mechanical centre, and the ground breaking of an R&D centre.

With total investment capital of over USD 550 million and 6,500 employees, THACO Industries aims to develop value chains that cover many production stages, from research and development to manufacturing to maintenance services.

The company offers a comprehensive package of services such as plastic moulding, painting, components procuring and manufacturing.

Within the ceremony, THACO Industries opened a 100-million-USD mechanical centre at THACO Chu Lai Industrial Park.

The 20-hectare centre, which is the largest of its kind in Vietnam, supplies materials such as steel billets, non-ferrous metals, and various types of moulds.

In addition, it will provide mechanical processing and surface treatment services, and will also manufacture semi-trailers, heavy components and equipment for a wide range of industries.

On the occasion, THACO held a ground-breaking ceremony for an R&D centre with a total investment of 20 million USD.

Covering an area of 20,000 sq.m, the R&D centre has been built with modern equipment and has over 1,000 highly-skilled experts to develop products that satisfy market demands and specific customer needs.

The construction of the project is expected to be completed in August 2023.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee Le Tri Thanh hailed that the establishment of THACO INDUSTRIES, the inauguration of the mechanical centre, and the commencement of the R&D centre will boost the development of the mechanical and supporting industries in Quang Nam Province and the central region in general.
