The product is appreciated for its potency and aroma and can be used for cooking or to make fine arts products.
Addressing the ceremony, Deputy Director Nguyen Phuc Nhan of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said that the honour represents a chance for Quang Ngai to advertise Tra Bong cinnamon as a local speciality and to promote Quang Ngai’s land and people to the world.
He expressed his hope that relevant agencies and tour operators would publicise Quang Ngai’s specialties—Tra Bong cinnamon in particular—helping the product penetrate markets and become a valuable gift for tourists visiting the locality.
Tra Bong commune is expected to develop a brand for its cinnamon and expand farming areas, as cinnamon is considered one of its key agricultural products.
