He also said that the free trade agreement (FTA) between Vietnam and the Eurasia Economic Union (EAEU) that took effect on October 5 will increase the volume of trade between the EAEU (including Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Armenia and Kyrgystan) and Vietnam as well as expand the market of food and consumer goods for member countries.

For her part, Deputy Head of the Trade Promotion Agency Bui Thi Thanh An introduced Russian enterprises to the current situation of the Vietnamese economy, particularly in regards to strong commodities for exports to Russia such as seafood, agricultural products, food and footwear.

She expressed her hope that the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Russia and the FTA between Vietnam and the EAEU would bring two-way trade from US$4 billion to US$10 billion per year by 2020.

On the occasion, Viktor Kambolov and Bui Thi Thanh An signed a co-operation agreement, creating favourable conditions for enterprises of the two countries to fully take advantages of opportunities of the FTA in the coming time.
