Vietnam’s import-export revenue surpasses 436 billion USD in eight months

The total import and export revenue of Vietnam reached 436.44 billion USD in the first eight months of this year, down 12.8% or 64.21 billion USD from the same period in 2022, according to the General Department of Customs.

Of the total, export revenue accounts for 228.17 billion USD, down 9.8%, while import revenue is at 208.27 billion USD, down 15.9% from the same period in 2022.

In August alone, Vietnam’s total import and export revenue was reported at 62.08 billion USD, a rise of 8.8% over the previous month, equivalent to 5.01 billion USD.

In addition, Vietnam enjoyed a trade surplus of 3.44 billion USD in August, raising the total trade surplus in eight months to 19.9 billion USD.

During the eight-month period, budget revenue from import and export activities was estimated at nearly 240.4 trillion VND (9.9 billion USD), down 19.2% from the corresponding period last year.
