Activities commemorate wounded and fallen soldiers

A wide range of activities were organised across the country to commemorate the 77th anniversary of Wounded and Fallen Soldiers’ Day (July 27, 1947 – 2024).

A delegation of Thua Thien Hue Provincial leaders, led by the Standing Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, visited and offered incense to fallen soldiers and heroes at Truong Son and Road 9 National Martyrs' Cemeteries, and Huong Dien Martyrs' Cemetery in Quang Tri Province.

The delegates paid tribute to the great contribution and services of wounded and fallen soldiers to national independence and freedom.

On the occasion, Le Truong Luu, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, joined leaders of the Department of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs to salute and present gifts to families of policy beneficiaries in Nam Dong District.

* A candle-lighting ceremony was organised at Ba Doc Martyrs Cemetery in Quang Binh Province on the evening of July 27, by the Provincial Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.

At the event, donors presented the funding for constructing five social houses, two children's playgrounds, and gifts worth more than 500 million VND to families of policy beneficiaries, disadvantaged students, and former youth volunteers.

* In Ho Chi Minh City, the municipal High Command coordinated with authorities of Can Gio District and the Dong Nai Union of General Agricultural Service Cooperatives (Dona Coop), to hold a ceremony inaugurating the Temple of Rung Sac - Can Gio Martyrs.

Covering 2.2 hectares in Can Gio District, the temple was built to commemorate heroes and fallen soldiers who laid down their lives during the two resistance wars for national independence and unification.

It is also designed as a place to educate the younger generation about patriotism and raise their gratitude for their ancestors.
