Arts programme pays tribute to heroes and martyrs

The Communist Party of Vietnam Online Newspaper held an arts programme in Hanoi on July 21 to mark the 76th anniversary of Vietnam's War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27).
The programme features songs and dances recalling the fierce but glorious struggle for national liberation, construction and defence of the Vietnamese people.

The event was attended by officials from the Party Central Committee Commission for Communication and Education, leaders of the Ministry of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs and relevant ministries and sectors, as well as representatives of thousands of families of policy beneficiaries and national contributors.

The programme featured songs and dances recalling the fierce but glorious struggle for national liberation, construction and defence of the Vietnamese people and highlighted contributions made by Vietnamese heroic mothers, Uncle Ho’s soldiers, war veterans and martyrs during the cause.

Reports on the lives of war veterans and policy beneficiaries as well as their efforts to overcome difficulties were also screened at the event.

First launched in 2008, the annual event aims to call on support from social organisations, businesses and individuals from across the country to ensure good living standards for families of war invalids, martyrs, Vietnamese Heroic mothers and national contributors.
