Luc Ngan district in the northern province of Bac Giang has 12,000 ha used for lychee farming with 80% being certified to meet VietGAP and GlobalGAP standards. In the 2019 crop, the district is estimated to provide over 80,000 tonnes of lychees for the market.
In particular, Luc Ngan lychees which meet organic standards were also introduced to Hanoi consumers at the lychee week in the capital city.
Other popular products of Luc Ngan were also brought to the event including rice noodles, honey, citrus fruit, dried lychees and others.
At the opening ceremony of the lychee week, nearly 100 contracts on the consumption of Luc Ngan lychees were signed.
A seminar seeking to promote the production and consumption of lychees and other typical products of Luc Ngan will be held within the framework of the event.
This is the fourth year that the Luc Ngan Lychee Week has been held in Hanoi. The event will run until June 16 at the Trade Promotion Centre for Agriculture at 489 Hoang Quoc Viet, Cau Giay district.
