Bac Ninh develops toward a modern and sustainable direction

The Bac Ninh Provincial Party Committee in coordination with the Central Theoretical Council organised a scientific seminar on several theoretical and practical issues on guidelines and policies of national industrialisation and modernisation to 2030, with a vision to 2045, from the practice of Bac Ninh Province.

At the seminar, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Dao Quang Khai emphasised that, after 25 years of re-establishing the province, Bac Ninh has become a modern industrial province, with many socio-economic indicators in the group of leading provinces and cities nationwide.

The industrial scale increased rapidly, making Bac Ninh become the centre of the electronic and high technology industry of the country. In 2021, the industrial production value reached 1.5 quadrillion VND, more than 1,000 times higher than that in 1997, ranking first in the country.

The external economic situation witnessed strong development, with 1,717 FDI projects, of which total registered capital was 21.2 billion USD, 151 times higher than that in 1997, ranking 7th in the country. Trade and service activities continued to grow, and export has made a breakthrough, reaching nearly 45 billion USD in 2021, accounting for 13.3% of the country's exports.

Bac Ninh province strives to become a city with modern industry and high technology by 2030; one of the centres of trade-service, education, human resource training, health care, science-technology research, application and development, meeting the requirements of a centrally run city; becoming a driving force for the development of the northern key economic region, the capital region and the whole country. By 2045, Bac Ninh strives to become a smart and high-tech industrial city.

At the seminar, delegates discussed and gave several recommendations for the implementation of industrialisation and modernisation in Bac Ninh province in the period up to 2030, with a vision to 2045.
