Bac Ninh expects more than 3,000 people to participate in a walking programme

The provincial-level “Walking together with Viet Nam” programme in Bac Ninh will be held in the area of the 3/2 Square, Bac Giang Ward. The activity aims to spread the spirit of solidarity, promote physical exercise, protect the environment, inspire national pride and join the whole country in achieving the goal of “10 billion green steps”.

On August 20, Le Xuan Loi, Vice Chairman of the Bac Ninh Provincial People’s Committee, signed and issued Plan No. 312/KH-UBND on organising the “Walking together with Viet Nam” programme in 2026 in Bac Ninh Province.

In response to the “Walking Together with Viet Nam” programme organised by Nhan Dan Newspaper in coordination with the Ministry of Public Security, the 2026 “Walking together with Viet Nam” programme in Bac Ninh will begin at 5:30 a.m. on August 30, 2026. From 6:00 a.m., the programme will officially relay the National Flag-Raising Ceremony and the Flag Salute Ceremony at Ba Dinh Square (Ha Noi), joining the common venues across the country.

The provincial-level venue will be organised at the 3/2 Square, Bac Giang Ward; at the same time, communes and wards are encouraged to select one location in their respective centres to organise activities, with a minimum of 200 participants, ensuring safety and convenience while limiting disruption to residents’ daily activities.

At the provincial-level venue, the programme is expected to mobilise between 3,000 and 4,000 people to participate in the walk, with participants encouraged to wear red flags with yellow stars. Participants will include cadres, civil servants, public employees, armed forces, forces participating in grassroots security and order protection; lecturers, university students and pupils; reporters, editors, artists, performers, and people from all walks of life.

The programme is a practical activity to celebrate the 81st anniversary of the success of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945-August 19, 2026), the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam (September 2, 1945-September 2, 2026), and the 81st Traditional Day of the People’s Public Security Forces of Viet Nam (August 19, 1945-August 19, 2026).

Alongside this, the programme will promote and encourage cadres, civil servants, public employees, armed forces and people from all walks of life to participate in physical exercise, improve their health and build a civilised and healthy lifestyle. It will strengthen solidarity and community ties; contribute to promoting the image of Bac Ninh Province, spreading the message of green living, protecting the environment and promoting sustainable development.

To ensure that the programme is held safely, solemnly and practically, the Bac Ninh Provincial People’s Committee has assigned the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to take the lead and serve as the focal point for coordination with the provincial Public Security, the Nhan Dan Newspaper Representative Office in Bac Ninh Province, the People’s Committee of Bac Giang Ward and relevant agencies and units in implementing the plan.
