Bank stocks help lift VN-Index by nearly 13 points

Vietnam’s benchmark VN-Index rose by 1.20% (12.88 points) during the first trading session of this week, supported by stocks in the banking sector.

The index climbed to 1,089.66 points with the total trading volume at over 15.986 million VND (nearly 657 million USD).

Trading on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange decreased by 9% to 14.079 trillion VND (578.55 million USD).

The VN-30 basket, comprising the 30 largest capped stocks, saw 24 tickers gained and 6 fell.

The HNX-Index for stocks on the Hanoi Stock Exchange rose 0.85%, while the UPCoM-Index for the Unlisted Public Companies Market went up 1.06%.
