Trading on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HoSE) rose 5.28% to 15.41 trillion VND (627.25 million USD).
The VN30 basket, comprising the 30 largest capped stocks, witnessed 10 tickers gained.
Foreign investors were net buyers to the tune of 264 billion VND, mainly buying MWG of electronics retail chain Mobile World and VCB of state-owned lender Vietcombank.
The HNX-Index for stocks on the Hanoi Stock Exchange decreased 0.10% while the UPCoM-Index for the Unlisted Public Companies Market expanded 0.23%.
