According to Ho Dai Dung, Deputy Head of the provincial Department of Planning and Investment, when it is completed in 2013, the 40 MW plant will turn out 331.5 million kWh of electricity annually using modern technologies from G8 member countries.
The plant will be built by the Vietnam High-Tech Renewable Biomass Energy Joint Stock Company with a total investment of VND 1.16 trillion (US$61.2 million).
The plant will create jobs for nearly 3,500 local workers, and contribute to reducing environmental pollution by recycling organic waste from agriculture and everyday life.
