Construction of the bridge, connecting the two communes of Binh Dong and Binh Thanh in Binh Son district, was commenced in February at a total investment of VND 287 billion (US$12.9 million). The new bridge is located near the old ones which have now become downgraded and will soon be taken down.
It is 490 metres long, 13.5 metres wide and has a loading capacity of up to 93 tonnes. The construction also includes a 50-m long approach road with a concreted surface of 7-metres.
The bridge is expected to improve the infrastructure system in Dung Quat Economic Zone, facilitate travel demand of local residents, develop the socio-economic situation and further ensure security in localities.
