Through Vietnamese products such as lacquer, silk, brocades, and horn and wooden items showcased at the event, visitors have the chance to learn more about Vietnam, contributing to promoting cooperation between Quang Ninh province of Vietnam and Misones, both of which boast natural world wonders, namely Ha Long Bay and Iguazu Fall, Vietnamese Ambassador to Argentina Nguyen Dinh Thao said.

Mayor of Puerto Iguazu, Marcelo Sanchez, and President of Misiones’s Craft Fund, Silvana Gimenez, stressed the need to set up cooperation between the craft production establishments of Misiones and Vietnam, whilst expressing their hope to send local enterprises to craft fairs in Vietnam.

As part of the occasion, Ambassador Thao had a working session with Misiones Minister of Tourism Sergio Dobrusin during which they discuss measures to boost ties between Quang Ninh and Misiones provinces in various fields, starting with tourism.

During his visit to Argentina in July, Secretary of the Quang Ninh provincial Party Committee Pham Minh Chinh received a letter of intent from the Misiones authorities on promoting tourism co-operation between the two sides, based on the potential of renowned natural heritages.

The Craft Fair MERCOSUR 2014, the fourth of its kind held by Misiones’s Craft Fund from October 8-13, is among the most important fairs in Argentina. This year, the fair drew the participation of more than 100 booths from Brazil, Paraguay and a number of Argentinean localities.
