Over 500 enterprises attend int'l exhibition on food & beverages

The 21st international exhibition on food processing, packing technology and equipment (VietFood & Beverage - ProPack) opened at the Saigon Exhibition & Convention Centre, in Ho Chi Minh City on August 9, with the participation of more than 500 enterprises.

This year's event, which will run until August 12, is showcasing nearly 600 pavilions run by enterprises from 20 different countries and territories, including the Republic of Korea, China, Thailand, Malaysia, Poland, among others.

The exhibition also sees the participation of a number of countries for the first time, including the Czech Republic, Brazil, France, and the United Arab Emirates.

The enterprises are focusing on introducing new products, technology and equipment in the food industry; agricultural, local, and aqua-sea products; beverages; nutrition and pharmaceutical food; materials and ingredients; machines and equipment, packing and food preservation; and franchises.

Pham Thanh Kien, Director of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade said that the event, which is held annually in Ho Chi Minh City, is a significant trade promotion activity and has become an attractive destination for enterprises from both home and abroad.

He added that the event will create an opportunity for enterprises to promote their products, as well as expand their market and seek partners, contributing to boosting the food processing and beverage industry of Vietnam.

Last year, the event attracted 425 enterprises from 21 countries and territories and more than 15,300 visitors.
