The basic infrastructure and wastewater treatment system for the first phase of the Thang Long Vinh Phuc Industrial Park, which is located in Binh Xuyen district, is scheduled for completion in 18 months.
The park is expected to attract 79 secondary investment projects from Japan, in the fields of motor engines, automotive parts, electronic components and other precision mechanical products.
Attending the ground-breaking ceremony, Deputy PM Trinh Dinh Dung said that the commencement of the park’s construction is an important milestone as Vietnam and Japan are celebrating the 44th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties.
He requested that the construction contractor guarantees that the industrial park will be completed on schedule and that they prioritise using local workers during the construction process.
Deputy PM Dung also asked Sumitomo to ensure that Thang Long Vinh Phuc becomes an exemplary industrial park in terms of infrastructure quality and environmental protection in Vietnam.
He expects that with its reputation, Sumitomo will continue to act as a bridge attracting more Japanese enterprises to invest in Vietnam.
In recent years, Japanese companies have invested significant resources, helping to bring about rapid changes and boost the economic development in Vinh Phuc provinces and many other areas in Vietnam.
Thang Long Vinh Phuc is the tenth industrial park to be built among Vinh Phuc province’s 19 industrial parks approved by the Prime Ministers as priority projects until 2020.
