Addressing the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to Argentina Dang Xuan Dung briefed the participants on Vietnam’s economic development after 30 years of renewal, while affirming the Vietnamese foreign policy of openness, multilateralism, and comprehensive international integration.
Vietnam also posted record high trade revenue of US$425 billion in 2017, a fourfold increase after 10 years of joining the World Trade Organisation. In addition, Vietnam was named on the list of the world's fastest growing tourist destinations for the first time in 2017, as it welcomed nearly 13 million foreign visitors, up 30% compared to 2016.
Ambassador Dung noted that Vietnam and Argentina has become important trade partners over the past few years with increasing bilateral trade volume. Thus, this forum is an opportunity for Argentinian enterprises to acquire more information on the international expos and trade fairs in Vietnam, so that they can seek investment and cooperation opportunities with Vietnamese enterprises.
Lorena Gonzalez, a representative from the Argentina Chamber of Commerce for Asia and the Pacific appreciated the development and international economic integration of Vietnam, amid the huge challenges facing the global economy.
She expressed her hope that Argentinian enterprises would have more opportunities to learn about the business environment and international expos in Vietnam in order to promote trade cooperation between the two countries in all areas.
The Vietnamese side also affirmed that the favourable investment environment and open and diverse markets of Vietnam will open up considerable opportunities for their Argentinian partners.
