Indonesia imposes anti-dumping duties up to 28.49% on Vietnam's steel sheets

Indonesia has announced a levy of anti-dumping duties from 12.01 - 28.49% on colour-coated steel sheets imported from Vietnam for a period of five years.

The decision was made by the Indonesian Anti-Dumping Committee (KADI) after it concluded the anti-dumping investigation into colour-coated steel sheets imported from Vietnam and China.

The Indonesian side said that it investigated colour-coated steel sheets imported from Vietnam dumped into Indonesia between 12.01 - 28.49% which caused considerable losses to the domestic industry.

The KADI launched the investigation into steel sheets imported from Vietnam and China on December 23, 2016.

The committee said that the total amount of colour-coated steel sheets imported to Indonesia during the investigation period from July 2015 to June 2016 was 224,119 tonnes including 196,190 tonnes from Vietnam and China, accounting for 87.5% of its total imports.

The steel sheets were subject to investigation coded 7210.70.10.00, 7212.40.10.00, and 7212.40.20.00.
