Petrol prices jump to VND23,650 per litre

Nhan Dan Online – Domestic fuel prices have gone up again for the third time in August with 92 RON petrol, the most common type of fuel in Vietnam, rising by VND650 to VND23,650 per litre.

The price increases took effect from 6 pm on August 28 after the Ministry of Finance approved the new pricing scheme submitted by fuel distributors.

Another common type of fuel for motor vehicles, 95 RON, also increased from VND23,500 to VND24,150 per litre, while kerosene rose by VND450 to VND21,900 per litre.

A litre of 0.05S diesel is now priced at VND21,850, up VND300 from the last price hike on August 13, while fuel oils remained unchanged at between VND18,550 and VND18,950 per kilogramme, depending on the variety.

In Singapore, the price of 92 RON fell to US$125.34 a barrel yesterday after peaking at US$128.4 a barrel on August 13.

Also on August 13, the prices of 92 RON and 95 RON petrol climbed by VND1,100 per litre to VND23,000 and VND23,500 respectively.
