Boosting Vietnam – US business cooperation

The Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations held the Vietnam – US Business Roundtable in Hanoi on September 17, which featured investment opportunities in Rockingham County, Virginia, the US.

Addressing the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to the US cum Chairman of the Vietnam – US Friendship Association Nguyen Tam Chien said that the relations between Vietnam and the US have seen strides, particularly after the establishment of the comprehensive partnership in 2013.

The two sides have actively promoted and expanded cooperation in various areas with the focus on trade and investment cooperation, Chien noted.

At the event, delegates discussed business and investment opportunities in the US in general and Rockingham County, Virginia, in particular, stating that Virginia has strength of science and technology, information technology, agriculture, food processing and others, which will help open up new opportunities for Vietnamese enterprises.

Meanwhile, Vietnam is boasting a more favourable business environment, which will be an attractive destination for US enterprises to continue to promote their business and investment activities in Vietnam.

The event witnessed the signing of a letter of intent between the Vietnam – US Friendship Association and the Vietnamese American Business Council and memoranda of understanding between enterprises of both countries.
