Vinacomin celebrates 25th founding anniversary

NDO – The Vietnam National Coal-Mineral Industries Holding Corporation Limited (Vinacomin) held a gathering on October 15 to honour outstanding staff members and celebrate the group’s 25th founding anniversary.

At the event, Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh presented Labour Orders to outstanding collectives and individuals of the group who have made significant contributions to Vinacomin’s development.

Speaking at the event, Nguyen Hoang Anh, Chairman of the Committee for State Capital Management at Enterprises, hailed contributions made by Vinacomin over its 25-year history to meeting the energy demand for the economy, thus facilitating the country’s industrialisation and modernisation.

He asked the corporation to effectively implement its production and business activities, realise its 2019 targets and contribute to ensuring national energy security.

He also requested Vinacomin to step up the restructuring process, the application of science and technology in production, enhance human resource training, and improve the living condition of their employees.

According to Vinacomin’s report, the corporation produces around 40 million - 45 million tonnes of coal per year, seven times higher than in 1995 when it was established. Its revenue increased to VND62.26 trillion in 2018 from VND1.3 trillion 25 years ago.
