Government shares difficulties with enterprises affected by COVID-19 pandemic

The Prime Minister’s Working Group led by Minister and Chairman of the Government Office Mai Tien Dung held a working session with business associations on March 26, to grasp the difficulties being faced by enterprises amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

The event saw the participation of Chairman of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) Vu Tien Loc and representatives from associations of various industries.

Addressing the event, Minister Mai Tien Dung said that the pandemic is spreading across the world in a complicated manner, thus, the Vietnamese Government has taken drastic action and put forth specific solutions to cope with the pandemic.

In addition, the Prime Minister has directed the implementation of various measures to remove difficulties for production and business activities to ensure social security and to maintain economic growth, Dung said.

He noted that the PM is scheduled to chair a national teleconference with localities nationwide in late March, with a focus on easing difficulties for enterprises, the disbursement of public investment, ensuring social security amid increasing unemployment, and ensuring national security and order.

The PM’s Working Group said that the current time is also an opportunity for enterprises to devise restructuring solutions and think about long-term strategies.

The PM’s Working Group will receive all ideas and proposals from enterprises to be submitted to the Prime Minister, Dung emphasized.
