Local trade departments and major retailers are requested to report the supply-demand situation and the distribution networks amid the new developments of the Covid-19 outbreak.

Retailers should have plans to stockpile and distribute goods in a prompt manner to meet consumer demand, especially for food, drinking water and face masks.

In the meantime, the trade departments are required to follow the outbreak closely, facilitate distributors of essential goods in continuing their operations and set up mobile outlets to serve the people in quarantine areas.

They also have the task of guiding the operation of markets and other outlets in order to ensure a steady supply of essential goods and safety amidst the outbreak in accordance with the Prime Minister’s order.

According to reports of local authorities and enterprises, the supply of essential goods is sufficient to meet demand and allow distributors and small traders to continue doing business as usual to serve consumers.

The nationwide social distancing is being implemented from April 1 to 15.
