The General Department of Vietnam Customs said on April 28 that after the electronic customs declaration system was opened on 0:00 on April 28, within 23 seconds, 78 declarations of 57 enterprises were successfully registered for the export of over 65,700 tonnes of rice which have just been supplemented to this month’s quota.

Of the total, more than 53,400 tonnes of rice was the volume of cancelled rice on April 12.

As a rule, 15 days after the date of registering the export declarations, traders that do not have goods to export will have their declarations canceled by the customs agency.

Thus, the rice volume of the cancelled declarations was returned to the system for enterprises to continue to register new declarations.

Earlier, owners of over 17,800 tonnes of rice stored at seaports and international border gates before March 24 were allowed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade to open export declarations from April 25.

Meanwhile, the export of sticky rice has been resumed as normal and is not included in this month’s quota.
