The event was jointly held by the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women’s Union, and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers’ Union.

The programme features four main parts, including a survey of the volume of agricultural products needed to be consumed in provinces and cities, the organisation of sites for selling agricultural products, the implementation of solutions for the online selling of agricultural products, and the organisation of seminars to train farmers in online sales skills.

At the event, the organising board also launched a number of sites for the direct sale of agricultural products, focusing on Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

In particular, a livestream programme was also held to help local farmers and cooperatives sell their farm produce meeting VietGAP standards such as the Bac Giang lychee, Bac Kan courgette, Son La plum and others.

The programme is expected to help farmers become familiar with online trading and create a network for the consumption of agricultural products on a national scale.

At the livestream programme this morning, more than 5,000 orders were made for nearly 85 tonnes of agricultural products. The same livestream programme will take place from 19:30 – 20:30 this evening (June 8).

In Hanoi, consumers can buy agricultural products directly at No.489 Hoang Quoc Viet, 68 Nguyen Chi Thanh, 34 Khuc Thua Du, B23 and X3 at My Dinh 1 Urban Area and at 186 Hong Tien.
