Despite facing numerous challenges in the past year, the region’s industrial activity has rebounded strongly, with many localities, including Nghe An, Thanh Hoa, Quang Ngai, Hue and Dak Lak, reporting double-digit growth.
Key industries such as mechanical engineering, automotive production, agricultural processing, building materials, garment and electronics continue to contribute significantly to overall growth.
The region’s retail sales are estimated at 1.7 quadrillion VND (64.4 billion USD), accounting for 23.9% of the national total and up 12.3% compared to 2024.
Lam Dong Province is the top performer, posting 263 trillion VND, accounting for 15.47% of the region’s total.
The region’s exports are estimated at 34.5 billion USD, while imports stand at 34.2 billion USD, resulting in a trade surplus of 245 million USD.
At the conference, the delegates discussed the key tasks for developing the region’s industry and trade in 2026 and the 2026–2030 period.
Proposed solutions include tackling current difficulties, strengthening regional connectivity, promoting green transformation in production and trade, aiming for sustainable development and double-digit growth.
